Prime Minister’s vision behind PMMY is to make small entrepreneurs come ahead as a job provider, not job seekers. Under this scheme, a person will get a loan upto prescribed limit with low-interest rates. These money lenders lend money on high-interest rates and due to the non recovery of these interests these money lenders used to acquire their farms. So to stop this monopoly of money lenders, central government took the initiative of providing loans to those people who have ideas for businesses and can provide work to other youngsters also.

Under this scheme, loan are classified into three subgroups:

  • Under Shishu Yojna, a person can avail loan up to 50 thousand.
  • In Kishore Yojna, a person can have a loan amount of up to 50 thousand to 5 lakhs.
  • Tarun Yojna provides loan amount of above 5 lakhs to under 10 Lakhs.
