Introduction To PMKSY Implemented In Welfare Of Farmer

As irrigation is the main occupation of many Indian, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi takes an initiative of developing farm efficiency and make sure of better consumption of the resources in the country. India 45% of the area is still covered under irrigation.

Due to less rainfall from quite some years, it becomes very important to use every drop of water for the better. By taking this point into consideration, Prime Minster Narendra Modi in the year 2015 gave main concern to water preservation and its supervision.

The scheme called Pradhan Mantri Gram Sinchai Yojana got launched in 2015 with the budget of 50,000 crores in five years.

Who Initiated This Pradhan Mantri Gram Sinchai Yojana?

This scheme decision was taken at the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs in view of expanding the exposure of irrigation & exerts a pull on investment in irrigation at field level. So that farmers can make benefit from their fields & produce a quality production. This scheme is working on a theme of Har Khet ko pani & More crop per drop.

So let’s go through some objectives of the Scheme Pradhan Mantri Gram Sinchai Yojana. Pradhan Mantri Gram Sinchai Yojana is supervised & monitored by none other than NSC National Steering Committee.

Objectives of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sinchai Yojana

) The main objective of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sinchai Yojana is to increase the physical reach of water on farms and get the bigger cultivable area under guaranteed irrigation.

) Attract more investment in Irrigation Fields.

) Improve water efficiency by using more water in farms & less wastage which will ensure the durability of the farms & production.

) Promoting more means of water reservation, harvesting water management & crop association with farmers & their root-level utility.

) Also, focus on reuse municipal ravage water for the peri – urban cultivation.

) Make best use of water for farming & cultivation with advance technology & practices.

) Pradhan Mantri Gram Sinchai Yojana is an ongoing formulated scheme going side by side with other irrigation-related schemes such as river Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) of Department of Land Resources Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme of Ministry of Water Resources etc.

) Entire Indian States & union territories including the North Eastern States are covered under this scheme.

)This scheme is based on a theme of area development any state can take projects based on District/State Irrigation Plan with a sphere of 5 to 7 years.

Components of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sinchai Yojana

Program components include Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme which focuses on sooner completion of current projects.  In this scheme creating new water, a resource will take place, water bodies will get restore &b repair for the time being.

Area development of farms also will take place. Water management will take place, which will ensure every drop of water is utilized. Annual action plan approval, monitoring, program supervision & groundwork for State & District Irrigation Plan.

Promotion for Water transportation, exactness water appliance promotion will take place such as sprinklers, drips rain guns etc. Many programs will run in order to have capacity building & awareness about low-cost journals.
